A Letter To My Master

By: Yattepia Tutsahwur
Neb Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig, known to us by so many names
You sacrificed your life for others, so ourselves we can now reclaim
You are not someone to be messed with, your words were piercing & deep
You transitioned without our meeting, now we walk together in sleep
You are also known as Master Naba, a master of all that you achieved
Your learnings had known no boundaries, now your ancestors, they greatly receive
Your teachings have given me new concepts about things I could have never known
And now I have an obligation, into the world these seeds must be sown
My master, in spirit you teach me, you have helped me to see and to grow
I could never have done this without you, Master Naba immensely I owe
I have sacrificed many things in my life, to walk this path that’s ahead
I know it will not be easy, I must be vigilant, I can be misled
With the tools Master Naba you’ve left us, I fight the good fight everyday
My teachers are here right beside me, for they can show me the way
Each day is a struggle i’ll tell you, my challenges they really do try
To break me with all their distractions, but my qualities they must remain high
The code of human behaviour, Maakheru, you translated for us
So that we can be functioning humans, to be like you, a great genius
Prophet Naba, you’ve done a great service, the world owes you a great deal
For now, they don’t really know why, but they will when they know whats is real
Humanity needs your teachings, for this world to heal and reclaim
To remember their spiritual aspects and to fight for their forefathers name
Returning to our ancestral culture is something I cannot explain
It brings profound understandings, we will not lose, we will only gain
I wish I had known you in person, to sit at your feet and to learn
I know some things about reincarnation, we may meet upon our return
Neb Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig, because of you I am better than I was
I work to raise my qualities daily, reason being, my life has a cause
Master Naba you left this world early, for you, your goal you’ve achieved
I hope to grow and be just like you, even a fraction, I still will be pleased
Inside I have better standing of the knowledge you left us to learn
With patience, humility, and compassion all the things I work hard to earn
For now, I continue your teachings, till that day this body is done
And care for the ones that will follow and know that my battle is won
